Any form of fungus is hard to eradicate, so treat with fungicide as soon as possible. Clear away and destroy all fallen debris around the affected plant where the fungus harbour and may spread to other plants.
- Black spots on yellowing leaves which fall off, particularly affecting roses
- Rust exhibits itself as yellow patches on leaves with orange-brown pustules under the leaf. It may affect many ornamentals, vegetables and fruit trees, particularly roses, broad beans and hollyhocks
- Mildew appears as a white dust on leaves, stems and buds
